CELEBRATING LIFE EVENTS

Faith is a journey, and some moments along the way deserve to be marked. Baptism is one of those moments — an act of obedience and public declaration that says "I belong to Jesus". Child dedication is another sacred milestone, a moment for parents to commit their child to the Lord and invite the church family to walk alongside them. We'd be honoured to celebrate both with you.

What Is Baptism?

  • Baptism is a symbol and public declaration of your faith in Jesus

  • The Bible encourages everyone who believes in Jesus to also be baptized

What Baptism Means

To explain the significance of baptism we like to use the words Dead. Buried. Raised.

  • Dead means that your old sinful self is no more because when Jesus died on the cross he paid the price for our sins

  • Buried means that your sin and the things that held you back from God are done away with. They don’t hold power over you anymore and they were buried with Jesus in the tomb.

  • Raised means that just as Jesus was raised from the dead to prove His victory over sin so to are you raised to a new life in Jesus. The old is gone and the new has come!

 BAPTISM

What does it mean to dedicate your child's life to God?
Psalm 127 says, Children are a gift from the Lord; they are a reward from him.

Child dedications give us a picture of God’s love.

Before we can ever do anything for God He already loves us completely and has given us a family to belong to. It’s also a commitment by the parents to recognize that their child belongs to God first and that He has entrusted this child to their care - to be their parents and to show them God’s love. As a church family we want to stand with parents and children and commit to each other to help everyone encounter Jesus
